I thought I lost my phone and so via theFind my iPhone app I have instructed it to wipe all contents. I've just found my iPhone! I have not connected it to the wifi yet and so the wipe has not started. Can I cancel the instruction?
I am currently on vacation. If I was at home I wouldn't worry so much because I know I could immediately connect it to my Mac after the wipe and get all the contents back again.

No. Only you as the iPhone owner have the ability to locate your iPhone. Find My iPhone is the tool that has been provided for you. If it can be found at all, it will be through your own efforts.

If you mean other than by getting up and looking for it, no. There is no magic that will reveal the location of your iPhone to you.
